Lead work 

Lead has been used for centuries to enable weathertight coverings to roofs. Used for its longevity and durability, lead is a flexible and soft malleable metal that protects properties from interior damage, mildew risks and leaks.

Compared to other metals, lead forms a layer of protective patina as it oxidises, mitigating against damage to the roof. 

​

It is also aesthetically popular due to its long architectural tradition in the UK. 

​

Lead is effective against:

- heavy rain

- heat exposure

- frost, snow, ice and hail

​

However, lead requires maintenance and upkeep to enable it to continue to have its weather resistant properties.
